First Step Shelter
The First Step Homeless Shelter was designed to provide our area’s homeless population a safe and dignified alternative to life on the streets, with emphasis on giving them their “First Step” towards improving themselves and their quality of life. The facility is a 120 bed, one story assistance facility providing food, shelter, clothing, and personal counseling. It also provides spaces for teaching and mental health assistance. It has dormitory style sleeping quarters with a 33/66 split between men and women. The facility also offers a full commercial kitchen and dining area, a 16 hour day Health Services Ward, and full administrative services.
