New Smyrna Beach Flagler Ave. Lifeguard Station

flag-9Located in New Smyrna Beach, a block away from Flagler Avenue, the new Flagler Avenue Lifeguard Station for Volusia County's Beach Safety Department is a 2,000 SF facility that includes a large garage space, law enforcement office, staff office, kitchen, first aid area, and shower/locker room facilities.

Beach Safety personnel had been housed for many years in an old dilapidated building from the early 1900's that was originally built as a part of a Coast Guard facility. The building remained in use during construction of the new facility and was demolished immediately afterward to provide additional parking.

Custom surfboards were designed and fabricated to adorn the front of the building to reflect and maintain the image of the beach side lifestyle prevalent throughout the surrounding community and business area.
